Story Transcript:

He: אברהם, שירה ויוסף, שלושה חברים המהלכים ברחוב דיזינגוף נחשפים בפתאומיות לבלטת נוער עוצרת ביישוב בעלי לשונות שונות. אברהם, המלחין, מתחיל לחצוף גונג. שירה, הציירת, מסמנת צורות מרחביות על דף ממספר הזמנים ויוסף, שסבל ממחשבה שטויה לעברית, נפלא ומנסה להסביר בלטה.
En: Abraham, Shira, and Joseph, three friends walking down Dizengoff Street, suddenly come across a youth troupe performing in a settlement with various languages. Abraham, the composer, starts to hum a tune. Shira, the artist, sketches spatial shapes on a sheet of paper multiple times, and Joseph, struggling with a strange thought in Hebrew, stumbles and tries to explain the performance.

He: "אבל איך תסביר בדיחה בעברית לאנשים שאינם דוברים עברית?" שאל את שירה בהלם. שירה חייכה מתחת להכנת הארוז של ראש המחשבת התמה הזו, ואמרה: "אתה תבין". אברהם קרט עיניים ואמר: "למה אני שמעתי את הבדיחה הזאת אמש?"
En: "But how do you explain a joke in Hebrew to people who don't speak Hebrew?" he asked Shira in shock. Shira smiled beneath the perplexed face of this strange thought and said, "You'll figure it out." Abraham rolled his eyes and said, "Why did I hear this joke last night?"

He: כחצי שעה סיירו השלושה ברחוב, מנסים לתרגם את הבדיחה לשפות שונות. "ו...ו," סימל יוסף, "אני נדהמת, אברהם, מה אתה אומר?" אברהם ניסה לבלמר: "בו...בדיחה!" אך למען האמת, השפה שלו החזיקה.
En: For half an hour, the three of them strolled down the street, attempting to translate the joke into different languages. "A... and," Joseph symbolized, "I'm astonished, Abraham, what are you saying?" Abraham tried to stammer, "A... a joke!" But truth be told, his speech faltered.

He: "כן!" צעק יוסף, "אני מבין, אתה תכניס פה תיאור של המקום, תביא את ההצגה לחיים, העיר מתעוררת, אני רואה את זה כאן, בהירה ומלאה אנרגיה!" שירה ניסתה לחסום את החיוך.
En: "Yes!" Joseph exclaimed, "I get it, you'll insert a description of the place here, bring the show to life, the city awakening, I see it here, bright and full of energy!" Shira tried to stifle a smile.

He: נכנסות ויצאות, ניסויים ורעיונות, תרגול על שעות – הכל למען שהבדיחה של אברהם, הכזו טשטשית ונכחית, תצליח להתאמת לשפה האוניברסלית של השמחה. וכך, במרכז תל-אביב, באוויר החם של הקיץ, הם הצליחו – וכולם צחקו.
En: Coming and going, trials and ideas, practicing for hours - all in order for Abraham's joke, so subtle and elusive, to adapt to the universal language of joy. And so, in the heart of Tel Aviv, in the warm summer air, they succeeded - and everyone laughed.

He: בסוף היום, נשלל מהם כל העייפות. השלושה כיכבים שהשתקפו מלכתחילה בעיניים הבהירות של שירה, אברהם, ויוסף ירדו לים, שמיים עם מלח ספיר ואהבתם הקוסמית לתרבות, משלים את מעגל החיים, וכולם חשו עלה, דולף כזה הדהדה את בדיחת המאה שנה, ועל החופי הזהב של תל אביב, הם צחקו עד שהם נפלו.
En: At the end of the day, they shed all their weariness. And on the golden shores of Tel Aviv, they laughed until they fell.
