Story Transcript:

He: דערש ממרחק, מתוך שדות הים האכזיבי, הופיע דגל שחור, שמש לוחשה לוודאי כי הם ממשיכים דרכם.
En: From a distance, amidst the fields of the Mediterranean Sea, a black flag appeared, whispering to them that they were indeed continuing their journey.

He: אותם שניים, אברהם ומרים, היו משתמשים במנהיג הנמלים ברחוב בן יהודה, במרכז תל אביב.
En: Those two, Avraham and Miriam, were using the leader of the port in Ben Yehuda Street, in the center of Tel Aviv.

He: אברהם, שעלה מבולגריה ואהב את החיים, היה מתכנן לעשות מהפך במפגש המשפחתי.
En: Avraham, who immigrated from Bulgaria and loved life, planned to make a breakthrough at the family gathering.

He: הוא ומרים קנו פירות, סלט, ועוד מנת הורה מהמסעדה הים תיכונית אשר הם אוהבים.
En: He and Miriam bought fruits, salad, and another main dish from the Mediterranean restaurant they loved.

He: על המדשאה מול הבמה המרכזית, הצטרף אליהם יואב, אחיו של אברהם.
En: Yoav, Avraham's brother, joined them on the lawn in front of the main stage.

He: ממילא מגש חומוס וחצי בהונותייה של מרים.
En: As per usual, he brought a plate of hummus and a half of falafel for Miriam.

He: המוסיקה התחילה לנגן, ואברהם, בגאווה והתרסה של גבר שהרקיד כפף בשאגת חיוב, טרף את פצמ"ר הצבאי מראשו ורקד וזעם.
En: The music began to play, and Avraham, with the pride and swagger of a man who danced like a feather in a gust of wind, kicked off his military boots and danced with fury.

He: בתנודה אחת מדויקת, כבריה שנכנסה למהלך נהר בעצמה, הוא דרך על בהונותיה של מרים.
En: In one precise movement, like a boat entering a river current on its own, he stepped on Miriam's falafel.

He: מעמדת החומוס התפשטה על רצפת הלובי, והחומוס רגע אחריו התפצל על יואב.
En: The tray of hummus spread onto the lobby floor, and the hummus followed, landing on Yoav.

He: עוד לפני שהשקט שנשאר מהמסיבה, חזר למקום.
En: Before the quiet that remained from the party, he returned to his place.

He: פיצופים אפשריים שקלים להתבצע התפצלו אל האוויר.
En: Possible cheers split the air.

He: בראשם, אברהם בדרך חזרה אל הדלפק, עם תחושת מרמור ושלווה שהתפשטה בלבו.
En: Leading the way, Avraham returned to the counter, with a feeling of calmness and tranquility that spread in his heart.

He: גם מרים חייכה לו.
En: Miriam smiled at him.

He: לעומתו יואב ניסה למוק מהחומוס מעומדתו.
En: Yoav, on the other hand, attempted to wipe the hummus off of his shirt.

He: אברהם בא לסיכום כי ההורה הוא לא שלו.
En: Avraham realized that the appearance is not who he is.

He: בראשו הרגש שאלול הוא זה שהוא, לא המראה.
En: In his head, he felt that Elul is the one who he is, not the appearance.

He: מרים חשבה כי יש לה מציאות חדשה לחלום עליה, חום והורה שראתה נערה בשיעור נוער, וסיפקה למרים תחושה של אהבה.
En: Miriam thought that she has a new reality to dream about, warmth and belonging that she saw in a girl's youth class, and it gave Miriam a feeling of love.

He: יואב, לעומתם, חש עצמו מולח מבלי לדעת מההן הסיבות.
En: Yoav, on the other hand, felt salty without knowing the reasons for it.

He: למחרת היום, אברהם קנה ספר מדריך לריקוד, מרים הרגישה שהוא צריך ללמוד ממנה, ויואב החליט שהוא מעדיף לא להשתתף במפגשים משפחתיים נוספים.
En: The next day, Avraham bought a dance guidebook, Miriam felt that he needed to learn from her, and Yoav decided he preferred not to participate in any more family gatherings.
