Drawing on Bion's (renowned psychoanalyst) theory of beta and alpha functioning, we illuminated how individuals may project inner conflicts onto external authorities, creating a fear of punitive consequences. By detailing the nuanced interplay between perfectionism, punitive superegos, and Bion's conceptual framework, we attempted to demonstrate the practical application of this theory.
