He: דוד נעמד בקו בת ה-59 לדוכן הפלאפל המקומי בתל אביב.
En: David stood in line at the local falafel stand on Ben Yehuda Street in Tel Aviv.
He: האוויר בהיילייט רטוב, והשמש מצפה אור עז על המדרכה.
En: The air was humid, and the sun cast a strong light on the sidewalk.
He: סביבו מתופפפים קולות ציפצופים של קוראים, שיחות אנשים, ואת המוזיקה המתקתקת מהרדיו הישן שבצדו של בעל דוכן הפלאפל.
En: Around him, there were the buzzing sounds of readers, people chatting, and the tinkling music from the old radio next to the falafel stand owner.
He: הקרני השמש מתנגשות במשקפי השמש שלו כאשר הגיע תורו להזמין.
En: The sun rays clashed against his sunglasses as it was his turn to order.
He: "פלאפל פיטה, בבקשה," אמר דוד לתוך החלון הקטן שבו התגלה פנים מרובעות של בעל דוכן הפלאפל.
En: "Falafel pita, please," David said into the small window where the square face of the falafel stand owner appeared.
He: "סלסה חריפה או עדינה?
En: "Spicy or mild salsa?"
He: " שאל האיש בתיבול עברית להינו בעל מבטע.
En: the man asked in Hebrew, seasoning his speech.
He: "עדינה," ענה דוד.
En: "Mild," David replied.
He: היד של בעל הדוכן - שהפכה לדוכן את אותה הקערה של סוס זימוק לרוטב חריף מגורסה - תקעה את הפיטה פה, מלאה רוטב עם פלאפל.
En: The hand of the stand owner, which had turned the same bowl of sesame sauce into a spicy dip, pierced the pita, filled it with falafel and topped it with sauce.
He: לפתע דוד, בטילה נשימה עמוקה, הפטיר בטעות לו רעתו.
En: Suddenly, David, taking a deep breath, accidentally released his anger.
He: לוהט חריף הניע את חוליו למוחו, והוא נקרע בצחוק, מים יצאו מעיניו, והוא סער את הפיטה שבידו כדי למרוש את היד שבפה שלו.
En: The intense heat rushed to his head and he burst into laughter, water coming out of his eyes, and he waved the falafel in his hand to swat away the hand in his mouth.
He: מסביבו, אנשים צחקו לו, מצייצים במחן.
En: Around him, people laughed, squeaking in amusement.
He: התוססות ההחמאה שבפני דוד שקף מהיר כדי למצוא מים.
En: The fermentation of humiliation faced by David quickly subsided in order to find water.

En: He took a few short steps to the bar in the corner of the stand and stuck his glass under a tap.

En: David, with a heart full of joy and a face soaked in water, kissed the new falafel.
