El: Στο ερείπιο της Αθήνας, κάτω από το βαμβακερό ουρανό του φθινοπώρου, περπατούσε η Ελένη με γοργά βήματα.
En: In the ruins of Athina, under the cotton sky of autumn, Eleni walked with swift steps.

El: Τα μάρμαρα της Ακρόπολης, μαυρισμένα και σιωπηλά, έστεκαν σαν φύλακες ενός χαμένου κόσμου.
En: The marbles of the Akropolis, blackened and silent, stood like guardians of a lost world.

El: Πουλιά πέταγαν πάνω από τα κεφάλια της, ενώ κατακίτρινα φύλλα έπεφταν σαν ψίθυροι από ξεχασμένα δέντρα.
