El: Καλοκαιρινό απόγευμα στο νησί της Κρήτης.
En: A summer afternoon on the island of Kriti.
El: Ο Δημήτρης, φοιτητής με ανήσυχο πνεύμα, βρισκόταν στο σπίτι των παππούδων του.
En: O Dimitris, a student with a restless spirit, was at his grandparents' house.
El: Αυτό το σπίτι ήταν παλιό, πέτρινο, και καθόταν περήφανο στην κορυφή ενός λόφου με όμορφο κήπο γύρω του.
En: This house was old, made of stone, and stood proudly at the top of a hill with a beautiful garden surrounding it.
El: Δίπλα του, η Ιρίνη, η μικρότερη αδελφή του, πρακτική και με κάποιο δισταγμό αλλά πρόθυμη να συμμετέχει σε κάθε περιπέτεια.
En: Next to him was i Irini, his younger sister, practical and somewhat hesitant but eager to join any adventure.

En: O Dimitris searched the entire house for a key.
El: Με την Ιρίνη να τον ακολουθεί επιφυλακτικά, προσπαθούσαν να θυμηθούν κάθε κρυψώνα που θα μπορούσε να είχε επιλέξει ο παππούς τους.
En: With i Irini following him cautiously, they tried to remember every hiding place their grandfather might have chosen.
El: Τελικά, μέσα σε ένα παλιό κουτί της γιαγιάς με ράπες και κλωστές, βρήκαν ένα παλιό χρυσό κλειδί.
En: Finally, inside an old box of their grandmother's with turnips and threads, they found an old golden key.
