El: Στο τέλος του χρόνου, η κρύα αύρα του χειμώνα τύλιγε το δημόσιο γυμνάσιο με μια αίσθηση γιορτής και προσμονής.
En: At the end of the year, the cold breeze of winter enveloped the public high school with a sense of festivity and anticipation.

El: Οι μαθητές περπατούσαν στους διαδρόμους, φορώντας παλτά και κασκόλ, ενώ το σχολείο ήταν στολισμένο με γιρλάντες και αστέρια για το επερχόμενο Νέο Έτος.
En: The students walked through the hallways wearing coats and scarves, while the school was decorated with garlands and stars for the upcoming New Year.

El: Ο Δημήτρης καθόταν στη θέση του στην αίθουσα διδασκαλίας, κοιτώντας το τεστ έκπληξης που η κα Ελένη, η αγαπημένη του δασκάλα αλλά σκληρή κριτής, μόλις είχε μοιράσει.
En: O Dimitris sat in his seat in the classroom, looking at the surprise test that i ka Eleni, his favorite teacher but tough critic, had just handed out.

El: Της άρεσαν οι προκλήσεις, αλλά το πάρτι την έκανε νευρική.
En: She liked challenges, but the party made her nervous.

El: Ο Νίκος, ο υπεύθυνος επιστάτης της σχολής, πάντα πρόθυμος και με το κεφάλι του γεμάτο από σχέδια για τέλειες δοκιμές πυροσβεστικής ασφαλείας, περπατούσε στους διαδρόμους σαν στρατηγός.
En: O Nikos, the school's responsible custodian, always eager and with his mind full of plans for perfect fire safety drills, walked through the hallways like a general.

El: Ξαφνικά, ο ήχος της σειρήνας της φωτιάς διαπέρασε την ατμόσφαιρα του σχολείου, αναγκάζοντας όλους να σταματήσουν αυτό που έκαναν.
En: Suddenly, the sound of the fire alarm pierced the school's atmosphere, forcing everyone to stop what they were doing.

El: Ο Δημήτρης είδε την ευκαιρία του.
En: O Dimitris saw his opportunity.

El: Αν φεύγανε νωρίτερα, θα μπορούσε να ξεφύγει από το σχολείο για λίγο μεγαλύτερη προετοιμασία για το πάρτι του.

El: Ο Δημήτρης τότε είδε την ευκαιρία του να φύγει από τη γραμμή και να πάει προς την έξοδο.
En: O Dimitris then saw a chance to sneak out of the line and head towards the exit.

El: Ο Νίκος όμως τον είδε και τον σταμάτησε με μια ανασήκωση του φρυδιού.
En: However, o Nikos saw him and stopped him with a raised eyebrow.

El: "Όλοι να μείνετε στη θέση σας!"
En: "Everyone stay in your place!"

El: φώναξε με ενθουσιασμό.
En: he shouted with enthusiasm.

El: Ο Δημήτρης δεν είχε άλλη επιλογή παρά να ακολουθήσει.
En: O Dimitris had no choice but to comply.

El: Και τότε συνέβη το απρόοπτο — το κουδούνι της φωτιάς δόνησε το ντουλάπι του Δημήτρη, όπου είχε κρυμμένα τα πυροτεχνήματα για τη βραδιά.
En: And then the unexpected happened — the fire alarm vibrated to ntoulapi tou Dimitri, where he had hidden the fireworks for the evening.
