Story Transcript:

En: In the middle of autumn, the leaves fell lightly to the ground outside the large white tent of the hospital camp.

It: All'interno, il rumore incessante di macchinari e voci basse era l'unico suono finché uno stridulo "cluck" non squarciò l'aria tranquilla.
En: Inside, the incessant noise of machinery and low voices was the only sound until a shrill "cluck" pierced the serene air.

It: Dante, un giovane tirocinante medico, si girò istintivamente.
En: Dante, a young medical intern, turned instinctively.

En: With his heart pounding, he saw a white hen flapping among the patients, sparking a pandemonium that no one could imagine in a field hospital.

En: Gianna, a determined nurse, tried to maintain order, but the bird seemed to be driven by a demon.

En: "It must have escaped from the kitchen," said Gianna through clenched teeth, as she searched Dante's eyes.

It: Lui annuì, nervoso ma determinato a dimostrare di essere all'altezza della situazione.
En: He nodded, nervous but determined to prove himself up to the task.

It: "Svelta, Gianna, fermiamola prima che faccia danni!"
En: "Quick, Gianna, let's catch it before it causes any damage!"

It: esclamò Dante con un sorriso incerto, pronto all'azione.
En: exclaimed Dante with an uncertain smile, ready for action.

It: La tenda era piena di letti, tubi e monitor.
En: The tent was full of beds, tubes, and monitors.

En: Gianna decided to use a strategic plan, attempting to corner the hen and push it towards a corner.

En: Dante, however, followed his impulse, launching himself after the bird with awkward jumps and many slips, falling several times to the astonishment of the patients.

It: La gallina era rapida e imprevedibile.
En: The hen was swift and unpredictable.

En: It was everywhere and nowhere, managing to weave between the medical equipment like in a chaotic dance.

En: Every attempt by Dante ended in a mess, while Gianna chuckled to herself, appreciating his effort.

En: Suddenly, the hen headed towards a cart loaded with surgical instruments.

En: Gianna held her breath, but before she could intervene, Dante, with an unexpected burst of agility, leaped through the air, capturing the bird before it could cause any disasters.

It: Atterrò con uno schianto rumoroso, ma trionfante.
En: He landed with a loud crash, but triumphant.

En: The hen squirmed in his arms, but Dante wore a satisfied smile.

It: Gianna applaudì, unendo le mani e ridendo calorosamente.
En: Gianna clapped, bringing her hands together and laughing warmly.

En: "Well done, Dante," she said with a sarcastic yet affectionate tone.

En: "But next time, let's leave the juggling to the professionals."

En: With calm restored, Gianna and Dante were met with a fond but stern look from their superior.

En: "I love you," he said laughing, "but I recommend staying away from poultry for a while."

En: Dante, beaming with newfound confidence, understood the value of teamwork.

En: Gianna, on the other hand, learned to embrace humor even in the most absurd situations.

En: Together, they restored order in the tent, the only evidence of the chaos a few scattered white feathers on the floor.
